POST-PRODUCTION : Intro

 

I think it's a very strong way to start a music video with a proper intro, that leads up to the song and anticipates it, so I decided to make one using some shots that I wasn't going to use for the song. Lana Del Rey's "Chemtrails over the Country Club" music video starts beautifully with flashes of shots of what's to come and then a brief story of how she is getting into a car and beginning to drive:

That intro directly influenced mine and I used a similar editing style. I even added a shot of Rafay pointing at the chemtrail as a homage to Lana's music video :) I am thinking of adding a short monologue, which Lana is also known for, as she has a beautiful music video for her song "Ride" from 2012, in which she speaks in poetry as the music plays in the back.

 I composed the music for this intro too, simply using the piano keys on the app called Garageband on my iPad. The end result was satisfying, although I will probably end up adding a monologue to improve it.
