Favorite Music Videos

Every music video has something new and creative to offer. I have been inspired by so many music video projects, which helps me develop my skills in cinematography, editing, sound designing, etc. I'm always excited to watch a new music video. The ones that intrigue me the most are the visually pleasing ones, where the display is meant to mesmerize the viewer. As an artist, I find beauty almost everywhere and it's quite an experience to gift your eyes and ears with a good music video

Here are 7 of my favourite music videos. These are not ranked in order as art is subjective and is to be judged as a spectrum, not a hierarchy:

1. Love - Lana Del Rey

This was the video that got me into Lana Del Rey. It successfully translates the song into visuals so beautifully and has inspired me aesthetically so much. I've been a big fan of retro-futurism and this video wholeheartedly does it justice.

2. Turbo Killer - Carpenter Brut

This video is perhaps the most visually interesting and complex one I've seen. It also explores retro-futuristic elements and has a wild but brief story, which fits the song so well. Plus the use of colouring and composition is remarkable. 

3. Take On Me - a-ha

The most visually creative videos for their time in my opinion. The hand-animated comical style is so classic and has become a symbol of recognition for the band, also the story is really cool too.

4. Kendrick Lamar, SZA - All The Stars

This video embraces African culture and its beauty so well since it was part of the soundtrack for Black Panther. The compositions and CG elements enhance the visuals so well and it's nicely paced too. 

5. Chemtrails Over The Country Club - Lana Del Rey

One of the oddly most beautiful videos I've watched. Had to be Lana Del Rey again.

There is such a big twist in this video which makes it so much better. The constant transitions and vintage style just create a world of their own for this song.

6. Up&Up - Coldplay

This one speaks for itself. Coldplay is known for having the most creative videos. This one makes use of CGI to add juxtaposing elements in the same shot. It's really fun to watch and doesn't bore you out. 

7. In The Night - The Weeknd

Another stunning visual masterpiece with a subtle narrative to it. I adore this director's style and it just brings so much life to the song. The vast colour palette and framing are something to appreciate here.  

These are just some of the many amazing music videos I could call my favourites. The list goes on, but there's something special about these to me.
