Preliminary Task : A Thousand Years

My friends Zara, Alizeh, and I shot a short video as an experiment with our previous Media teacher Sir Nadeem Zulfiqar. He chose the song "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri and had us shoot a video for its chorus as a preliminary task.

Sir provided us with a gimble and video lights to practice with. We shot on my iPhone 11 Pro and the results turned out great. We played with a technique called slow motion lip sync, where you lip to the sing that is sped up. Then in editing, you slow the clip down to the original speed of the song.

We had Zara act it out for us, Alizeh had the lights, while I filmed.

Here is the link to the final video: Zara - A Thousand Years

This was good practice to understand how to use different lighting, angles and slow-motion to our advantage. It gave us an early look at what it's like to film a good music video.
